Our Purpose

As a philanthropic and social oriented sorority , we pride ourselves in giving back to the community and contributing to those who are in need. Throughout the years we have committed ourselves to projects that have helped better the lives and futures of children. We are also strong supporters for various community events.

In particular, Beta Phi was the first Greek student organization to bring the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life philanthropy to SFSU's campus in Spring of 2004. This 24 hour event "represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported and that one day cancer will be eliminated."

We are also responsable for the annual SFSU Starlight Show, which is a talent show that raises money for the "Books for Love" movement. This movement holds a special place in our hearts, because it was begun and is maintained by an alumnae of Beta Phi, in order to bring education/books/schools to the children living in impoverished parts Phillipines, and Brazil.

In addition to this, we believe in promoting unity with other Greek organizations through social (exchanges) events. We believe that social interaction with other organizations is very important on and off campus. Here you may find people with common interests, future job opportunities, career goals, similar majors and especially long time friendships that will be beneficial during and after college.

We are also involved with many fundraising events to help fund our programs throughout the semester.
